About The Breed Match

The Breed Match is an independent guide to dog and cat breeds. We combine breed standards, kennel club and cat registry information and veterinary sources into clear profiles and practical breed quizzes.

Every profile is written to help you choose responsibly: we describe what a breed was bred for, what daily life with it looks like and which health issues to ask breeders about. We do not sell animals and we are not affiliated with any breeder, kennel club or cat registry.

Breed information is general guidance. Individual dogs vary, so meet animals of a breed in person and talk to reputable breeders, breed clubs or rescues before you decide.
